Prevent, Inc. began in 1996 with the mission to implement our trademarked Safe Patient Handling Program - "Get A Lift!"® As professional nurses, we are very familiar with the hazards of the nursing profession. We are passionate in our focus to improve the safety of the healthcare work environment.

Prevent, Inc.'s nurses define a successful safe patient handling program as one where the evidence supports

  • A permanent change to the care delivery process
  • Employee patient handling lift transfer and repositioning injuries are reduced by more than 80%

 

Betty Bogue, President

President and founder of Prevent, Inc.

Since 1996, Betty Bogue's single focus has been to build and develop the "Get A Lift!" Program. Her mission to use professional nurses to successfully and permanently improve the safety of the nurse care practice has remained constant. The success is evidenced by the dramatic reduction of caregiver injuries in more than  600 healthcare organizations.
