Creating a safer healthcare environment:

The "Get A Lift!" Program has dramatically improved the safety of the healthcare workplace in twenty-six (26) acute care hospitals in the U.S.

Twelve months prior to the integration of patient handling devices into the nurse care process, 1,092 caregivers were injured by the manual lifting, transferring and repositioning of their patients.

Twelve months after the "Get A Lift!" Program was in place, there was a 90% reduction in the number of caregivers who were injured. This outcome reflects the success and feasibility of permanently improving the safety of the healthcare workplace.
